One Piece Live action Show News

As a reviewer in the anime industry, I have some exciting news to share with all the One Piece fans out there. Netflix recently shared an update regarding the highly anticipated Hollywood live-action series based on Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga. The update comes directly from the original creator of One Piece, who is also serving as an executive producer on the series. Oda stated that the show is still on track to debut in 2023, but it won't launch until he is "satisfied." This is excellent news for fans as it shows that Oda is committed to delivering the best possible adaptation of his beloved manga.

Oda also clarified that the series will consist of eight episodes, contrary to the initial report of ten episodes. Netflix will exclusively stream the live-action series, which is being produced by Tomorrow Studios. The show's writer is Matt Owens, who has previously worked on popular series such as Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The executive producers of the show are Steven Maeda and Becky Clements.

In 2017, the producer Marty Adelstein stated at Jump Festa that the live-action series will start with the East Blue arc and will "broaden from there." Adelstein also promised to create "a true One Piece" after discussing the project with Oda personally. This is all exciting news for fans, and it looks like we can expect great things from the upcoming live-action series. With Oda's direct involvement and the talent of the production team involved, it's sure to be an exciting and faithful adaptation of the beloved manga series.
