Starting the New Year

At the beginning of this year, I decided to start putting more time into my interest in anime and games. As someone who has been an avid consumer of these different media, I struggled to find people I can talk to regularly about the things I was interested in. Of course, I have great friends who will always listen and chat with me from time to time but as we get older it gets harder to find time to do so. As such I decided as an almost New Year’s resolution I would put more effort into making more content and share it with people around the world through social media. Though it took me until the Lunar New Year to really get it going and even now I am still trying to plan what more I am going to do on my other social media. Honestly, I don’t have a great idea of what I am doing so this year is going to be a lot of testing and experimenting.

Now, where are we to start? With my website, I want to work on a few different things. One is getting in the habit of writing more and working on my spoken voice in the text. For some of the content on here, it may be in the first person, and for others, it may be in the third. I want to post movie, show, and game content on this website along with more personal content like this. I want to be able to be someone that people can relate to but also trust to get information that is up to date. I know I am only one person and that means opinions are going to have my own personal perspective but I think that is what makes the conversation interesting when it comes to talking about things we love.

Azur Lane Sakura Empire Characters celebrating the lunar new year.

Azur Lane launched its lunar new year ran from January 18 through February 1.

So what have I been up to between the New Year’s? Well, there are actually a few different things that I have been up to. First off I started a new job, well I actually started in December but work really only started now. This new job for me puts me into a regular nine-to-five as compared to my previous job in a retail job where I had no real consistent schedule. This new job should give me more personal time as I settle into a more standard routine where I can plan out activities. Now while I still settle into my new job I have started to play Azur Lane in my free time on my phone. I gave it a shot back in 2019 when it first came out because I really like the idea of human personifications of battleships. Originally I wanted to give it a shot because I really loved the Kantai Collection anime and PS Vita games that came out years before.

For those who don’t know Kantai Collection was the “original” ship-girl anime and game series that took classical World War II ships and personified them as humans that can arm themselves with ship parts. Now the biggest difference is the source materials. Kantai Collection, Kancolle, was made in Japan and never really expanded outwards besides the anime. Whereas Azur Lane was developed by a team from China and then later distributed worldwide allowing it to gain a much larger audience.

Now while I could keep going on with this topic, let’s get back on track. I started playing Azur Lane and have really enjoyed its gameplay. This is what I have been up to at the start of this year. Now I know that this has been a very sporadic first blog but hey that is what it is sometimes.

With all that being said guess we leave this with what I feel is going to be my send off, it’s just anime, chill.
